 Cool Kitchen Stuff: Slow Cooking
With their emphasis on using less-expensive cuts of meat, long-cooking beans, and whole grains, slow cookers can help you put healthful, budget-conscious meals on the table with a minimum of time and fuss. The slow and steady extraction of complex flavors from pantry staples and hearty ingredients makes the use of slow cookers this season’s most compelling cooking trend.

35 to 45 minutes  6 to 10 hours  3 to 4 hours
50 minutes to 3 hours  8 to 18 hours  4 to 6 hours
